Rene Meldrum

Rene started playing guitar at 10 years old. His first band was The Cats. Rene liked all types of music, rock & roll, bluegrass, folk, but he played rock & roll electric guitar in high school. After a time, he switched to folk music and made a 45. He cut a record with partner in music, Mike Hishon supported by a mutual friend, Beth Bagley-Stanton who had also made a 45 record. Rene did some recording with Mike Hishon and bass player Ken Braun. Together they recorded four songs for a label. Rene then recorded his own album with friends. Road to my Cathedral was a demo, now available now on YouTube. Originally he went by the name Rene John (John being his middle name). He sang with the New Baltimore Inter-Faith Choir in the late '70's and also played at St. Mary's Queen of Creation Church and Immaculate Conception Church. That's how the group all started playing music together in Celtic Cross, at church. We've been playing together since 1990 wow how time flies!
